CH2M HILL is currently seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to administer a large design and build pressurized face tunnel contract 1. Statement of Work Functions • Primary point of contact for the contractor on a large tunnel contract • Administration of the contract in accordance with the contract conditions • Oversight of the safety of assigned staff • Management of assigned staff and allocation of resources to meet project demands • Reporting to the Construction Manager (CM) on the progress of the contract • Liaison with third parties • Performance of all duties in a manner that promotes progress of the work and represent CH2M Hill in a professional and appropriate manner 2. Prefer Chartered Engineer (UK), PE (USA) or equivalent professional qualification/membership. • General Experience: Minimum 15 years related experience in underground construction works, with particular experience in TBM tunnelling, both large diameter and microtunnelling. Minimum 5 years experience as lead manager on tunneling contracts. • Specific Experience Desired: - Demonstrated success in managing large underground contracts. - Specific experience of working with pressurized face TBMs on soft ground tunneling works. - Good general heavy civil engineering experience. - Some tunnel design experience preferred. - Experience of administering design/build contracts using FIDIC Conditions of Contract. - Good commercial knowledge of underground works. - Computer literate – proficient in MS Office, Primavera P6 or MS Project, project management software such as Expedition, PCM, or Documentum eRoom. - Articulate and can present clearly and professionally to experts in underground works and novices alike. - Competent at writing letters and reports – can present views clearly and concisely in good written English. - Culturally aware - used to handling a multi-cultural, multi-religious staff.

Senior Civil / Structural Engineer | Hill International

1. Review the contract documents (drawings and specification related to his discipline) and advises the Construction Manager of any deficiency. 2. Review Contractor's submittals, related to his discipline, and ensure its compliance with concept design, contract requirements and properly coordinated with other disciplines. 3. Review shop drawings, related to his discipline, and ensure its compliance with design requirements, contract requirements, properly coordinated with other disciplines and submitted as per the approved schedules. 4. Review and approval of Materials, related to his discipline, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and submitted as per approved Project Construction schedule. Any deviation from project specification shall be notified to the Construction Manager vide Material Approval Request (MAR) Verification form. 5. Regular visits to Project site to ensure quality of work is in compliance with contract requirements, good construction practice, only approved materials are used, compliance with shop drawings, and report any deviations to Construction Manager. 6. Make sure that CONTRACTOR has submitted the Method Statement (MS), Quality Control Procedure (QCP) and Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) prior to starting the relevant activity. Inspection & Test Plans and other Quality Verification Forms address all necessary information outlined in the project specification or in the Manufacturer recommendations. 7. Review and approval of Method Statement (MS), Quality Control Procedure (QCP) and Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) as submitted by Contractor and ensure its compliance with all contract requirements. 8. Coordinate with COMPANY Senior QA Engineer to establish the intervention point in the proposed Inspection and Test Plan. 9. Participate in reviewing Field Design Changes, related to his discipline, as submitted by Contractor by giving the technical position addressing any foreseen cost and Time Impact. 10. Technical support and assessment to Contracts Engineer and Cost Engineer of Trend Notices, approved variations and claims (when raised by Contractor). 11. Advise PMT Quality and Safety Engineers as well as Construction Manager of noticed non-compliance cases during site visits. 12. Regular spot checks of material delivered to site, related to his discipline, and direct the relevant Inspector/ Engineer to continue inspection of stored materials on site to ensure it is as per approved materials and in good condition. 13. Closely monitor inspector/engineer performance and advises the Construction Manager in case of deficiency or poor performance. 14. Technical support to PMT Planning Engineer in respect to precedence of activities related to his discipline and optimum duration of each activity. 15. Attend Technical Meetings with Contractor, and Weekly Progress Meetings if required by Construction Manager. 16. Ensure full coordination between all other disciplines / Trades has been carried out for all External and Internal MEP services 17. Review spare parts, operation & maintenance manuals of trades related to his discipline and ensure compliance with contract requirements. 18. Participate with PMC disciplines in reviewing the Close Out Report as submitted by CONTRACTOR. 19. Review As-Built drawings related to his discipline as submitted by Contractor. As built drawing shall be properly coordinated with the site Inspection Team to make sure that it matches all site changes. 20. Witness pre commissioning & commissioning activities related to his discipline and ensure full compliance with project requirements. 1.21. Make sure that any non-conformity has been reported through a Non Conformance Report (NCR).
